Think on this...

Surrendering to Jesus is laying down my own plans and using my life in the furtherance of God's scheme of redeeming people.  This year we are using the word ENGAGE as a summery of this concept.  One might ask this question to see if you are engaging others, "What am I doing to reach others for Christ and to build them up in the faith?"

    Engaging people is nothing more than what you do on a day in a day out basis.  By interacting with others we share ideas, plans, feelings, and information.  In doing so, we irritate, relieve, buildup, alienate, win over, anger, frustrate, challenge, mend, or, well you pick an adjective.  My point is you do all this to people every day concerning a variety of issues, why not engage them with the Good News of Christ that can change their life forever?

    Engaging people is what Jesus did with the woman at the well, religious leaders, labors, random encounters, and at parties.  (We will talk more about this in our next sermon series).  My point here is, if Jesus did it, and Jesus commanded His followers to do it, then why aren't we doing it?

    Let all begin this week asking this question "How am I engaging people so that they can build their life upon the rock, that is Jesus Christ?"
